Depending on the number of bathers using the facility and other factors, the sensors need to be cleaned frequently. Turn off your controller and all feeds first and that entails shutting off the flow cell valves, manually unscrewing the sensors from the flow cell, and then disconnecting the connectors. In order to keep the tip of your sensors wet, carefully place them into a clean container with water.
Just carefully clean the white ring and the tips of the sensor (at the bottom) with ordinary toothpaste and a gentle toothbrush. When keeping sensors for an extended period, place them in clean water or distilled water, the soaking caps supplied with the original storage solution. When not in use, take precautions to avoid freezing temperatures. A pH or ORP sensor should never be allowed to dry fully. Drying ruins the reference connection, nullifying the sensor's warranty.
